Styled for Success As product cycles in the fashion industry get shorter, there's a need to keep in closer touch with the latest trends and maintain meaningful dialogue with customers. How better to cultivate these contacts than in one place - somewhere with a strong background in apparel and accessories, and which is a meeting place for the world?
Hong Kong - Fashion Capital Hong Kong is that place, and Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2007 is that event. More and more exhibitors and buyers from around the world are doing the smart thing and gathering in the city every July - by doing so, they are making the most of this vibrant platform to grow their business.
The Spring/Summer edition is now an established phenomenon on the international fashion calendar and growing in popularity each year. The last event saw an increase of almost 30% in trade buyer attendance. And not only is it getting bigger - it is also becoming more diverse. In 2005, 904 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions, including group pavilions from Chinese mainland, India, Korea, Macau, Taiwan and Thailand, attended.
Something for Everyone Total buyer attendance was 19,430, coming from 95 countries and regions all over the world. The buoyancy of Asian economies was evident in the fact that there was a 68% increase in trade visitors from the region. Europe and North America posted healthy growth rates, too. One of the reasons for the boom in attendance was undoubtedly the abolition of textile quotas at the beginning of 2005. This has opened up new sourcing avenues and buyers were keen to make the most of the opportunities presented.
Buyers include wholesalers, chain stores, high-end department stores, famous brand names and chic boutiques. Collectively they are looking for the whole gamut of products: babies and children's wear, women's wear, men's wear, lingerie and nightwear, executive wear, casual wear, fur and leather, cocktail and evening gowns, outerwear including sportsgear, footwear and bags.
Information Exchange The show is supported by a programme of fashion shows, seminars and networking events. The runway parades feature a wide variety of designer collections, from up-and-coming designers to well-established brand names from around the world.
Secure Your Space Don't get left behind - the fashion world moves fast and you need to move with it. So book your space for Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2007 now!
