An Overview |
IGATEX, the prestigious International Textile, Garment Machinery and Accessories Exhibition in South Asia will make its fifth successive presentation in 2006. IGATEX Pakistan has gained massive repute on an international scale within four years and is widely recognized as the preferred showcase of the best in both textile and garment sectors. In line with the rapid expansion of the Pakistani textile industry, IGATEX Pakistan 2006 is all set to exceed its previous records; reinforcing its position again as the "Largest Exhibition of its Kind in the Region" and a significant trade exhibition in the industry.
IGATEX Pakistan 2006 will provide the ultimate opportunity for leading international manufacturers of textile and garment machinery and accessories to display their cutting-edge equipment in Pakistan; with the country ever ready to make major investments in this sector. The economy of Pakistan is growing at an unprecedented rate and exports are increasing at over 20% per annum with the garment and textile sectors contributing over 67% to total exports. To further strengthen the textile sector, the Government of Pakistan has allocated USD 3 billion for balancing, modernization and replacement (BMR) of machinery as well as expansion of this sector.

Pakistan's Garment & Textile Industry |
Garment and Textile are two of Pakistan’s principal industries contributing more than 67% to the total export earnings. Putting the average monthly exports at $762 million, Pakistan's textile industry is poised to take the country's total exports to over $14.5 billion in 2005.

Review of Textile Exports |
During January – April 2005, Pakistan achieved $3.048 billion worth of textile exports. The textile exports include products such as Cotton Yarn, Cotton Fabrics, Knitted Fabrics, Towels, Bedwear and other Types of Yarn.
