Over 1,000 exhibitors sign up to over 120,000 square metres

 

  　29 October 2007, Beijing – The whole world of textile machinery will be in the spotlight in Shanghai next year for the ultimate textile machinery show – ITMA ASIA + CITME 2008. For five days, from July 27 to 31, the city will host the perfect blend in customer-supplier interaction, as the unique ITMA exhibition brand meets the largest and most important textile sector.

 

 　 Existing stand space sold out months in advance, so the organisers have responded by reserving two extra halls, now being built, to meet soaring demand. And still there is a waiting list for stands, as over 1,000 eager exhibitors have already snapped up all but the smallest remaining spaces. 

 

  　The event is now certain to cover more than 120,000 square metres at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre (SNIEC) – the biggest textile machinery event ever to be held in China.

 

　  The ITMA ASIA + CITME 2008 show is jointly owned by the European textile machinery association CEMATEX and a Chinese consortium (CCPIT sub-council of Textile Industry, CTMA - China Textile Machinery Association -, and CIEC - China International Exhibition Centre Group Corp.). The partnership brings together the technological power of the CEMATEX countries in Europe and the massive market for textile innovation provided by Chinese textile producers.

 

 　 ITMA ASIA + CITME 2008 is the one and only Asian exhibition to have CEMATEX and CTMA support. It continues the momentum created by the two previous ITMA ASIA shows in Singapore, in 2001 and 2005. And it now dovetails with the four-yearly ITMA shows in Europe, to form a global calendar of premier textile machinery events. ITMA ASIA + CITME 2008 is scheduled to be staged every two years and details are currently being discussed for the 2010 edition.

 

  　Says CEMATEX Secretary General Maria Avery: “No other exhibition in China has the support of CEMATEX or CTMA, and we are delighted that both exhibitors and visitors have clearly acknowledged our ITMA/CITME brands by showing such great interest in the inaugural ITMA ASIA + CITME event. 　  Already, the world’s most influential and authoritative representative bodies for both textiles and textile machinery producers have thrown their weight behind ITMA ASIA + CITME 2008, as the only show in China that has their full support. These groups include: Japan Textile Machinery Association (JTMA – which is a special partner of the show), American Textile Machinery Association (ATMA), China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA), , Korea Textile Machinery Association (KOTMA), Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) – as well as the nine CEMATEX member country associations in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
