Shanghai/Frankfurt, 05 November 2026 – “Leading Textile Technology. Tailored for YourSuccess. Under this theme, VDMA member companies will showcase a strong presence atITMA ASIA+CITME in Shanghai.
A total of 44 German exhibitors will occupy approximately 2,200 square metres, making Germany the largest exhibiting country by floor space after China. Further VDMA companies willparticipate through their Chinese branches. Exhibiting VDMA members represent almost allmachinery categories, including spinning and manmade fibres, nonwovens, weaving, braiding, knitting and hosiery, finishing and dyeing, and textile processing. China emains Germany’slargest single export market for textile machinery. ITMA ASIA+CITME 2026 in Shanghai is therefore once again the key platform for presenting new technologies, meeting customers and discussing investment plans. The focus will be on technologies that help textile producers improve productivity, use resources more efficiently and adapt production to their specific
requirements.
“Our theme ‘Leading Textile Technology. Tailored for Your Success’ reflects a shared focus among the VDMA members on solutions that perfectly meet the customers’ production needs, explains Dr. Janpeter Horn, Chairman of VDMA Textile Machinery. “With our experience, we are partners throughout the entire lifetime of our machinery and equipment, from product development and customized machines to reliable on-site service.
The following company statements explore complementary approaches: rethinking spinning processes, ensuring precision and reliability in key components, controlling textile finishing and adapting to changing production requirements. Across these perspectives, process engineering, automation and digital tools support consistent quality, greater productivity and more efficient use of resources. The emphasis is on how technology can deliver practical benefits in day-today production.
For Barmag, the starting point is a fundamental rethink of the spinning process.
André Wissenberg, Head of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs,
Barmag “For decades, productivity improvements in spinning were often measured in percentages. With
POY 2.0, we set out to rethink the entire process from the ground up. The result is a solution that simultaneously addresses the industry's most pressing challenges: efficiency, quality, sustainability, and workforce availability. This is not a machine upgrade. It is a new production philosophy.
Alongside changes to the overall production process, the precision and reliability of individual omponents remain important. Mahr Metering Systems highlights this role through metering technology used from polymer conveyance to fibre finishing.
Ireneusz Kubek, Managing Director, Mahr Metering Systems:
“‘Leading Textile Technology. Tailored for Your Success’ means, for us, listening to our customers and translating their requirements into high-performance solutions. Our gear metering pumps support the fibre industry throughout key process steps, from polymer conveyance through the spinning process to fibre finishing. They help ensure consistently high product quality, stable production processes, and high plant availability. Especially in an industry where every production interruption and every quality deviation incurs costs, precision, reliability, and durability are critical success factors. Together with our customers, we continuously work on innovations that reduce production risks, use resources efficiently, and meet the growing demands of the fibre industry. After all, technological progress only realizes its value when it creates tangible benefits for the customer.
The focus on controlled, reproducible processes extends beyond fibre production. Hansa Industrie-Mixer addresses the mixing, dosing and foaming technologies that help determine the properties of finished textiles.
Frank Mohr, Senior Sales Manager, Hansa Industrie-Mixer
“Performance in the final textile product is often determined after spinning, weaving or knitting.
In textile finishing, coatings and functional treatments define properties such as surface
characteristics, durability, protection and handle. Precise mixing, dosing and foaming technology
are key to achieving controlled formulations, reproducible processes and continuous production
– tailored to the specific application. Because in textile finishing, every fibre has a story. The
right process technology helps define how it continues.
Reproducibility must also be balanced with flexibility as product ranges and order sizes change.
Georg Sahm points to automation and digital adjustments in winding as ways to manage more
frequent production changeovers.
Torsten von Koch, CSO & Sales Director, Georg Sahm
“We see a clear shift towards shorter production runs, greater product variety and more frequent
changeovers. For manufacturers, the ability to adapt quickly means they can respond to new
orders faster, produce a wider range of products and make better use of their capacity. With
winding technology that offers intelligent automation and digital parameter adjustments during
operation, flexibility can become a direct driver of productivity and competitiveness – and also
help to reduce downtime.
Matching technology to the application is equally important in finishing, where product requirements and energy use must be considered together. Monforts emphasises process engineering and fabric trials under production conditions.
Volker Gingter, Managing Director, A. Monforts Textilmaschinen:
“The finishing of textiles needs tailored technologies for value added products and saving energy and production costs. Monforts is responding to the market with innovative solutions. A wide range of different machine equipment is available. The Monforts Advanced Technology Center (ATC) offers a comprehensive selection of machines for practical fabric trials under real production conditions – for maximum reliability in the finishing result and precisel coordinated machine technology. A perfect combination of technology and tailored process engineering is essential. Monforts experienced team gives support to meet customers’ expectations.
Once a process is established, maintaining the required quality depends on monitoring and adjustment during production. Mahlo highlights real-time process intelligence and automated correction as tools for reducing waste and improving consistency.
Thomas Höpfl, Sales Director, Mahlo
“Leading textile technology means helping manufacturers achieve measurable improvements in quality, efficiency and sustainability. Real-time process intelligence, automated correction and continuous optimization create the foundation for this progress. Our customers can reduce waste, increase productivity and achieve reliable results from the very start of production.
These approaches also connect to the wider organisation of production. Brückner Textile Technologies brings together digital connectivity, automation and energy use in its perspective on future textile manufacturing.
Verena Ruckh, Head of Marketing, Brückner Textile Technologies
“At the heart of tomorrow’s textile industry are intelligent processes, connected production,
smarter workflows and responsible energy use. By combining smart digital technologies, advanced automation, and sustainable engineering, we support our customers in building future-ready production environments and competitive textile manufacturing worldwide.
Across these perspectives, the common focus is on matching technology to customers’production needs. Visitors to ITMA ASIA+CITME 2026 can discuss these approaches with exhibiting VDMA members at their stands in Shanghai and explore opportunities for continued cooperation with the Chinese textile industry.
