United States Of America : Wal-Mart and Carrefour Hyperactive in China

US retail heavyweight Wal-Mart has opened its first store in China''s capital. The company opened a Sam''s Club in the western part of Beijing and now operates 23 stores in the country.

French retailer Carrefour too is all set to open a 15,000 square metre supermarket in Urumqi, the capital of the Chinese Xinjiang region, in December. Presently, Carrefour operates 39 supermarkets in 21 Chinese cities.
