Russia : Mosshoes Prestigous Russian Footwear Fair

The sixteenth International Specialized Exhibition of footwear "Mosshoes" was held on July, 1 – 4 in Moscow cultural and exhibition center “Gostiny Dvor”. The fair was combined with “Mosshoes Technology” exhibition. However, starting from the next year “Mosshoes” will run four times a year separately from any other exhibitions, and “Mosshoes Technology” – only once a year in January.

"Business is made here!" - The statement, which corresponds the spirit of the fair. Two hundred sixty seven companies had occupied entirely more than 6000 m2 space of unique exhibition center. The absolute majority of the participants of this “Mosshoes” edition were operators from Russia and several other CIS countries, who offer the goods for the following autumn/winter season.

The Russian leading footwear producers such as “Ekonica”, “Alba”, ”Egle”, “Tula shoe factory” and others were  neighboring the large and middle-range traders of  shoes.  However, traditionally, the Italian and Turkish sectors were significant. On the contrary, the next, autumn edition is going to be mostly foreign. The event will represent world leading footwear companies from all parts of the world.

Both organizers and participants were impressed with the number and “quality” of visitors. The fair was visited with about 18 000 footwear professionals from all parts of Russia and other countries.  It might be explained with constantly growing competition and volume of Russian footwear market and the high level of the fair organization as well.

The participants of “Mosshoes Technology” were also satisfied with the fair. Especially the last day was the most productive from the business point of view, when the majority of the Mosshoes production companies came to visit their potential suppliers’ stands.

In general, there is no doubt, that “Mosshoes” can be considered as the most prestigious Russian footwear fair. The next event is planned on September 30 – October 3, 2003.
