Textile Exports Surges 8.4 Percent

According to the China National Textile Industry Council the textile
and garment exports of China topped US$33.74 billion in the first half of this year, a surge of 8.54 per cent over the same period of last year despite slowdown in overseas order.

Key export markets for textiles and garments were Hong Kong (up 19.28 per cent), Europe (up 39.34 per cent) and the United States (up 37.77 per cent) in the first half.

Textile and garment imports rose 10.71 per cent to $7.325 billion
during the same period.
