Clothing Sales Drops By 34.9 Percent

According to the latest information released from the National Statistics Office, the clothing sector of Malta reported a lacklustre
performance between July and September 2003.

Sales during the three months were down by Lm6 million or 34.9 per cent to Lm11.3 million, from Lm17.3 million last year. The number of people employed in the sector fell by 814 - out of a total of 1273 job losses in the manufacturing sector as a whole.
