Baluchistan narrowly misses 100,000 in cotton bales output

An impressive 98,000 bales of cotton output was produced by Baluchistan province during the current season. Official sources state that 39,000 hectare acres of land against a target of 40,162 hectares was covered under cotton cultivation during 2003-04, which was 97 percent achievement.

Besides three ginning factories the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has set up procurement canters for processing of cotton. Being relatively new area undertaking cotton cultivation, it is free from pest and related crop diseases.
