China: Shangdong province sees big rise in foreign trade |

Shandong Province located in the East China region is one of the country''s leading economic generators.
Shandong has conducted US $27.97 billion worth foreign trade during the first half of this year, up 38.6 percent year-on-year, according to a local statistical bureau.
The total trade included $15.56 billion of exports, up 32.6 percent year-on-year, and $12.4 billion of imports, up 47 percent.
52.4 percent of the exports came from overseas-funded businesses or $8.15 billion, and 53.1 percent of the imports at $6.58 billion.
Imports and exports by local state-run enterprises amounted to $7.38 billion during the six months, up 26.7 percent year-on-year, with the amount by private businesses rising 150 percent to $2.49 billion.
The Republic of Korea maintained its leading position as Shandong''s leading trade partner as bilateral trade volume reached $5.86 billion from January to June, up 38 percent year-on-year. Japan was second with a trade volume of $4.73 billion, with the United States at third position with $4.12 billion.
Major exports were machinery and electronic products, garments and accessories, textile yarns, and fabrics.
The province exported $1.05 billion worth of hi-tech products during the six months, up 64.5 percent year-on-year, with hi-tech imports rising 32.5 percent to $1.49 billion |
