The visiting mayor of a London borough, Fazalur Rehman on Saturday said that there was great scope for boosting Pakistan’s textile and garments to the United Kingdom. “Only quality products’ exports can help Pakistani businessmen to establish their credibility in the western markets,” he said while addressing the executive committee members of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) here.
He regretted that the poor quality consignments sent by certain unscrupulous exporters had brought bad name to Pakistan.
He said that there was a £3 billion market of halal food in the United Kingdom, promising great opportunities for the Pakistani businessmen to exploit. He said that Malaysia and Taiwan were the leading exporters to the British market.
