A latest report states that small to medium enterprises (SMEs) were turnuing to Internet, but were facing major problems as regards spam.
As per the findings of the report, 86 per cent of SMEs were on the Internet. For the medium businesses – with 20-200 people – the proportion was found to be 99 per cent.
However, the wholesale and retail sectors had the lowest levels.
45 per cent of business now have a website, up 9 per cent on 12 months ago, with another 16 per cent intending to set one up in the next year, claims the report.
The single most common driver for Internet connection was E-mail, while 90 per cent of SMEs used the Internet for research. Online selling and e-mail marketing claimed the honours ot top position according to the report. |
