China : Hongguo''s on a roll, H1 profit jumps 36%

Chinese women''s shoe company Hongguo has reported a 36 percent hike in net profit to CNY29.4 million (€2.9m) for the first half of 2004. The company’s sales rose 27.4 percent to CNY148.7 million, helped by a 26.1 percent rise in retail sales to CNY111.5 million and the opening of 41 stores. Hongguo now operates 290 stores.
