UK : Paul Myners to stay as M&S Interim Chairman |

British high street super-retailer Marks and Spencer Plc informed that Paul Myners will continue as Chairman of the company for at least another year, while the search for a permanent Chairman continues.
The London-based retailer revealed that Myners will stay Chairman until the company''s annual general meeting in July 2005 and will step down from the board of mobile communication services company mmO2 and as a trustee of the Charities Aid Foundation to give sufficient time to the role. He was appointed as Interim Chairman after Luc Vandevelde resigned in May.
Myners, together with M&S boss Stuart Rose, has been credited with successfully fending off various takeover attempts from British retail entrepreneur Philip Green.
Kevin Lomax, Senior Independent Director at M&S said that the group now needed a period of stability to focus on day-to-day operations.
