Koehler & Krenzer Fashion AG, the German womenswear company, reported that sales for the first half of 2004 improved by 8 percent to €32.2 million.
Next to positive pre-order results, the major impetus for growth came from the company''s good positioning with retail and the additional combination ranges of brand Marcona, the Ehrenberg, Rhoen-based Company explained.
Chairman of the Board Robert Schmitt said, "We were scarcely hit by the overall price pressure in the industry because of Marcona, Isabell S and Koehler & Krenzer, our strong group brands."
First half-year profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization was €3.6 million as compared to €2.6 million in the same period last year.
Schmitt remains optimistic for the remainder of the year. Due to an increase in demand, the company had stepped up its jacket and combination collection supply. In doing so, Koehler & Krenzer forecasts a 4.6 percent sales increase to €82.6 million for the entire year and expects to improve its overall profit. Beyond the expansion of its three group brands, Koehler & Krenzer will also offer fashionable fast collections.
The company''s export share, currently at 35 percent, is also supposed to grow.
