September 8, 2004 Invista Performance Fibers announced today a price increase of 10% on its high-tenacity polyester fibers in North America effective October 1, 2004. The increase will affect several markets including industrial webbing and seatbelts, coated and laminated fabrics, and cordage.
The higher price is necessary to help offset increasing raw material, transportation and energy costs that continue to impact Invista''s polyester fiber business, the company said.
Invista is among several leading polyester fiber producers to announce price hikes in the last month.
