Australian:ABS reports wool exports up but TCF imports down |

The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported that while wool and sheepskin export went up at 43 percent valued at $81mn, textiles, clothing and fabric (TCF) imports dropped resulting to the balance on goods and services dipping by $2.105bn, seasonally adjusted for September.
Exports went up by almost $500mn to $13.37bn however, the deficit was up from a downwardly revised deficit of $1.837bn in August, even as the monthly trade deficit rose 10.5 percent in September, mainly due to a five percent increase in imports which reached $15.4bn.
Textiles, clothing and footwear imports were down $17m (3 percent), compared with an average August to September fall of 13 percent over the previous three years. |
