USA:Footwear company Clarks adopts Manhattan Associates'' Warehouse Management for Open Systems Solution |

Global leader in supply chain execution and optimization solutions, Manhattan Associates, announced one of its clients-Clarks Companies, North America (CCNA)-which was recently named as a recipient of the 1st Annual Fusion Award for Retail Management Excellence at the recent 2004 Retail Executive Summit, sponsored by RIS News.
The award honors companies in the retail industry who have achieved "Best Practice" status by fusing business strategy with IT solutions. CCNA, which markets and sells its best-selling men''s and women''s footwear lines under the Clarks, Indigo, Privo and Bostonian brands, was a winner in the Supply Chain category.
According to Stephen Katsirubas, CCNA''s vice president of information systems, the company has experienced dramatic business improvements since transforming its technology infrastructure last year and implementing Manhattan Associates'' Warehouse Management for Open Systems solution in its Hanover, Pennsylvania Logistics Center.
The deployment has enabled CCNA to optimize its warehouse operations and supply chain processes. Fulfillment productivity at the facility is up by more than 30 percent and inventory visibility and control have also been enhanced, paving the way for CCNA''s continued growth.
"CCNA has experienced 90 percent revenue growth since 1995 and our legacy warehouse system was not in a position to keep pace with the increased transaction volume and growing needs of our business" explains Katsirubas.
"So when we migrated from a mainframe to a more open computing environment, we implemented Manhattan Associates'' Warehouse Management for Open Systems solution to streamline fulfillment. The solution not only complements our best-of-breed IT strategy, but also provides the open architecture and flexibility we need to integrate the warehouse operations with our material handling equipment and our ERP and existing supply chain applications.
