The textile printing industry along with other members of the ink and dye value added chain will get immense benefit from the NT$10-20 million initiative taken by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
It was there years back under a strategic plan that a domestic digital bubble jet printing project took off in June of 2001 and to, eventually, research the probability of commissioning a project that utilized advanced heat propelled technology that could etch digital spay paints onto different textiles surfaces.
This novel project of national importance involves developing digital ink jet applications and printing that provide clearer and sharper pictures.
Vice President of Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI) Bai Chi-chung has been appointed the coordinator and director of this project.
According to Bai, reliable digital textile printing solution will appear on the domestic scene within the next 3-5 years. He added that their recent undertaking and innovation in the digital printing sector offers better quality assurance and products for all sectors of Taiwanese society.
Currently, the TTRI and industry partners have the capabilities to manufacture digital printing pattern in small quantities with superior qualities products, informed Bai.
As per the technology, heated nozzles spew ink of different colors, based on pressures through an opening. This technology, which offers assurance of quality with high resolution and stability in color management, also helps in reduction of energy costs and is environmentally friendly.
Through this project, TTRI wants to establish itself as a hub where hardware, software and ink management get integrated produce a multi-disciplinary digital textile printing industry.
“The digital textile printing should be considered an art form and not just a loan application for industrial usage," concluded Bai. |
