(30 November 2004, Hong Kong) The Organizers of the 11th International Exhibition on Textile Industry (ShanghaiTex 2005) announce that nearly all the seven main exhibition halls are fully occupied. Upcoming exhibitors are now put in waiting list. Temporary exhibition space is planned to be set up at outdoor area to cater to the need.
Exhibition space is in great demand For long, ShanghaiTex is widely acknowledged as the leading international textile event in the Greater China. The show receives overwhelming response that all the seven exhibition halls, including the newly launched Halls 6 and 7 at Shanghai New International Expo Center, are totally utilized.
"The response signals a keen demand on exhibition space. Outdoor extension is definitely necessary though we have already had two more exhibition halls", said Mr Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Limited. "We will figure out the extension plan very soon and announce it to the waiting exhibitors." Adsale is the overseas organizer of ShanghaiTex.
According to Chu, late confirmers are now putting in the waiting list in which many of them are machinery-based manufacturers. They are asking for sufficient exhibition area that enable them to do display and demonstrations.
The scale of the show is expected to reach 100,000sqm, which is an over 40% growth to the last edition. Halls 1, 2, 6 and 7 are International Sector while Halls 3, 4 and 5 are for local exhibitors.
"Textiles and apparels are one of the top China export commodities. It will certainly go further when all import quotas is lifted in 2005. Facing the surge that China textiles and apparels will pose to the world market, experience and technical exchange between domestic and foreign enterprises is a way to sharpen each other''''''''s competitive edges''''''''. Chu added. "In fact, ShanghaiTex does carry such a mission."
Strong international brands and multi-national pavilions In view of outstanding track records, exhibitors and national pavilions reserved their space immediately right after the close of the last edition (ShanghaiTex 2003). They also made early booking, thus intensifying the demand on ShanghaiTex 2005.
So far 10 national pavilions have confirmed their dominant presence. For German, Italian, US, Spanish, Korean and Taiwan Pavilions, each of them will occupy some thousands square meter of exhibition area. Italian and German Pavilions occupy almost half of an exhibition hall respectively. Other pavilions such as Swiss, French, PR China and the UK have also settled their booking.
Similarly, key market players in various sectors are enthusiastic to the show. For examples, Knitting: Chemtax/H. Stoll, W.J.M., Steiger; Spinning: Murata, Rieter, Uster; Weaving: Picanol, Itema Group/Sultex, Stabuli; Textile chemical: Bayer/Lanxess, BASF, Cognis; Printing, dyeing and finishing: Fong''''''''s, Asia Kingdom, Stork etc.
To facilitate visitor navigation, five theme zones will be set up: 1) Knitting & Hosiery Equipment & Machinery Zone, 2) Printing, Dyeing, Finishing Equipment & Machinery Zone, 3) Textile Chemicals Zone, 4) Spinning Machinery Zone and 5) Weaving Machinery Zone.
Seminars and symposium will also be run concurrently. Topics cover on Spinning, Weaving, Textile Chemicals, Techtextiles and Nonwovens as well as Dyeing and Finishing. Details and schedule will be announced later.
ShanghaiTex 2005 is scheduled for 3 - 7 June 2005 at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), Pudong, Shanghai, PR China.
The show is sponsored by Shanghai Textile Holding (Group) Corporation, Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai and Chamber of International Commerce Shanghai. The organizers are Shanghai International Exhibition Co Ltd, Shanghai Textile Technology Service & Exhibition Centre and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. The show is also co-organized by Shanghai Textile Machinery & Accessories Association and supported by 13 textile industrial bureaus, general councils and corporations of the territory.
In the last edition, over 120,000 times of visitors were recorded in the 4-day show. Visitors came from 47 countries and regions as well as local representatives from 30 cities, provinces and autonomies. Around 35 sizable delegations from all over the world were received.
