Vietnam:Saigon port opens new year’s cargo account |

Saigon port in Ho Chi Minh City, Friday handled its cargo, signaling a positive beginning for the year 2005.
Setting itself an ambitious target of managing 12 million tons of cargo, it aims to generate a revenue of over VND500 billion and record profit worth VND22.3 billion.
Over 11.5 million tons of cargo, or five percent more than the yearly plan, was handled by the Saigon port generating a revenue in the excess of VND494 billion. It registered a profit of VND22.4 billion and contributed VND23.5 billion to the State exchequer. |
