OptiTex 3D animation – a true to life cloth simulation

OptiTex launches the next generation in CAD/CAM capabilities - the Fabric Motion Simulator.

January 5, 2005 – New York - OptiTex USA, Inc. announces the completion of the long awaited cloth simulation software add-on built using OptiTex hi-end cloth draping engine.

Following years of product development and testing conducted by OptiTex team of software engineers OptiTex announces the launching of its first version of the most accurate 3D cloth simulation software – the fabric motion simulator that is built into OptiTex 3D Runway product. This new add-on takes OptiTex 3D technology to the next level, allowing Runway users to incorporate complex processes such as Fabric collision, intersections and motion capabilities into one file that can later on be presented or sent out to non OptiTex users.

Adding motion to the model is a breeze; A user can run the preinstalled BVH files (motion capture files) or import such files from other 3rd party application, apply the motion they need to the user own model and get real life results which are no longer just static images and objects but the ability to see visualize the patterns in real life situations thus increasing speed to market.

-Start by creating 2D flat patterns with OptiTex PDS application.

-When your design is complete, continue with OptiTex stitching module in order to stitch the different pieces.

-Add textures, logos, prints and define stitch types to the garment. Define the fabric''s physical attributes, using our friendly WYSIWYG process that is done using OptiTex 3D tools. Simply add what you want, position it in the 3D world and instantly verify with visual results!

-Feel free to use the 3D models bundled with OptiTex 3D module or import your own from an external application. OptiTex supports most of standard 3D file formats such as: 3DS, Maya, AutoCAD, VRML and others.
