Iran:Mazandaran grows over 16,000 tons of cotton last year |

Since March 2004 till the end of the year, last year, cotton farms of Mazandaran harvested about 16,930 tons of cotton from 8727 hectares of land.
Bad weather played truant delaying work in about 15% of the cotton farms in the province.
Neka topped as largest producer of Mazandaran during the year (4875kg per hectare). Meanwhile, cotton mills purchased 1239 tons of pure cotton.
Several cotton mills of the region have closed in the recent years due to poor marketing strategies employed by the industrialists. |
