Germany:President Horst Koehler declared best-dressed |

 Leading German magazine Men’s Health in its latest issue titled ‘Best Fashion’ declared country’s Federal President Horst Koehler as the best dressed-person of the country.
While naming him, the magazine said that the 62-year-old Koehler clothes reflect a combination of elegance with dignity. The jury consisted journalists, advertising executives, and fashion designers.
Before taking over as the President, Koehler headed the Washington, DC based International Monetary Fund till last year, and his preference for Hugo Boss suits is a well-known fact, according to a report in the best-selling tabloid Bild.
However, Koehler shows his austere side while buying his neckties at clearance sales.
Actor Kai Wiesinger in the style category and soccer great Franz Beckbauer in the business class were also announced as winners by the magazine.
Designers Karl Lagerfled and Wolfgang Joop, as well as ex-tennis star Boris Becker and musician Marius Mueller-Westerhagen were marked out among the notable winners.
At the other end of the spectrum, Goalie Oliver Kahn was announced the worst dressed joined by Bundestag President Wolfgang Thierse and comedian Dirk Bach, said the magazine.
Acknowledging that fashion-consciousness was not a pre-requisite for holding public office, the magazine noted and applauded Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, Hamburg Mayor Ole von Beust and FDF head Guido Westerwelle as fine role models for others to follow. |
