China’s export of textiles and garments to restricting countries (quota countries) was US$2.424 billion in Jan.-Feb. 2003, a year-on-year increase of 29.84 percent, while the export to non-restricted countries was US$7.171 billion, a year-on year increase of 21.48 percent.
China’s import of textiles and garments to restricting countries (quota countries) was US$115 million in Jan.-Feb.2003, a year-on-year increase of 34.02 percent, while the import of non-restricted countries was US$1.945 billion, a year-on year increase of 19.20 percent.
The export to the United States, China’s third largest importer of textiles and garments, has been rising year by year. The export value in Jan.-Feb.2003 was US$1.119 billion, increasing by 33.67 percent.
China’s export value of US$1.108 billion to the European Union also made remarkable progress, increasing by 26.40 percent.
