The beginning of October found Texindex--China Textile and Apparel Online--successfully holding a Mini-meeting for international buyers and Chinese suppliers. The event came soon after the portal launched its first ever TCQ system, which is an online communication tool for textile and apparel industries.
The meeting was rather simple in nature, in which an average of 5 suppliers held talks with 1 buyer, most of the time introducing each other and their products. The foreign buyer present at the meeting had been pre-qualified by Texindex and was publicized on Texindex’s portal a few days before the commencement of the meeting. In addition, suppliers were also informed of the detailed specifications, images, quantity and even target prices for items to be purchased by the buyer. To attend the meeting, suppliers had to meet two requirements: (1) must be regular member of Texindex and (2) meet the demands of the buyer and enjoy good reputation.
After last week''s meeting in which Santex Corporation from South Korea acted as the buyer, a domestic textile company from Qingdao of Shandong Province had been going well with Santex and is now expecting a final transaction soon.
Meanwhile, great efforts have also been taken to ensure the reliability and efficiency of such meetings. Detailed information about products to be purchased was publicized online in advance so that relevant suppliers could apply to attend the meeting. Texindex selected the appropriate ones that met the specified requirements posed by the buyer and forwarded them to the buyer for preview and confirmation.
Texindex.com is now one of the most populous online marketplaces in textile and apparel industries and is featured by its close relationships with many overseas textile portals. It is aimed at providing professional electric solutions for textile and apparel firms by transforming the traditional costly but inefficiently transactions.
