Fabric output decline slightly in July

Even though the total fabric output touched 3.150 billion square meters mark in July, it was little below the record June output of 3.391 billion square meter.

However, the growth was 30.43 percent year-on-year basis, while January through July cumulative fabric production reached 20.2 billion square meters, that showed 22.8 percent year-on-year rise.

Surprisingly, cotton fabric market share in July was up 51 percent over last year''s same month figures at 52 percent.
Nevertheless, it stood below the 54 to 55 percent market share of April through June.

Eliminating marginal deviations, cotton market share of the fabric market has stable.

Cotton fabric market has remained stable ranging between a low of 48 percent to a high of 56 percent, since 2003.
