Restrictions on the use of certain Brominated Flame Retardant in states of USA

Apart from these 3 States, other States including California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Minnesota,Washington have proposed the ban as well. The requirements of the bills in different States are similar. Here’s the highlights of the requirements:

• A person may not manufacture, process or distribute in commerce a product or a flame-retarded part of a product containing more than 0.1% of pentaBDE or octaBDE. 

detaBDE is being studied and reviewed since there is still a number of uncertainties concerning its possible effects on human health and environment.
