China:4th China International Expo equipment fair opens in Shenyang

The 4th China International Expo on Equipment Manufacture was open in Wulihe Stadium in Shenyang. Wu Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, sent a letter of congratulations to the Expo. Bai Lichen, Vice-chairman of 10th CPPCC National Committee, declared open of the Expo, Bo Xilai, Minister of Commerce, gave a speech to the Expo.

Wu Yi said in her letter that to hold China International Expo on Equipment Manufacture was an important action for China to communicate and cooperate with the outside world in the field of equipment manufacture, and with common efforts from various parties, the Expo has been successfully held for 3 times with its own characteristics. It exhibited the latest technology and facilities of equipment manufacture in China and advanced technology and products of international famous manufacture enterprises, the Expo has been an important platform to upgrade the competitiveness of China''s equipment manufacture and also a window for the whole world to know China and Northeast China, it plays a core role in promotion of revitalizing the northeast old industrial base and of the development of China''s equipment manufacture.

Mr. Bo Xilai expressed in his speech his congratulations to the successful holding of the Expo and thanks to Shenyang for its preparation and contribution to the Expo.

Zhang Baoguo, Deputy Minister of the State Development Planning Commission and Director of Revitalizing Northeast China Office, and guests from over 30 countries and regions and about 10 thousand domestic delegates of exhibition enterprises took part in the opening ceremony.

Before the ceremony, Bai Lichen, Bo Xilai and Zhang Guobao inspected the exhibition halls and heard the introduction.

The Expo was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, State Council''s Office of the Leading Group for Revitalizing Northeast China and Other Old Industrial Bases, CCPIT and Liaoning Provincial Government, supported by Shenyang Municipal Government and Liaoning CCPIT.

The Expo highlights the theme topic of "Equipment Manufacture and High Technology", continues to promote the revitalization of northeast old industrial base and open-up, play a good role in undertaking the transferred manufacture business of the world and strive to serve the development of national equipment manufacture.

It is learnt Conference on expediting the revitalization of equipment manufacture in northeast China, CEO Forum of Top 500 Enterprise, 2005 Annual Meeting on European and Asian Equipment Manufacture Association, China International Investment and Trade Fair, and Forum on name Brands of Chinese Equipment Manufacture would be held during the Expo.
