Key cotton prices today drifted lower on thin demand from spinners and exporters in the face of increased new stocks arrival from production centres like Gujarat, Karnataka, Punjab and others,traders at the East India Cotton Exchange here said.
The prices of Bengal Deshi crashed by Rs 200 per candy while Punjab J-34 and H-4 declined by Rs 100 each per candy and Bunny cotton grade also eased by Rs 150 on sustained to improve selling rpessre by stockists in view of larger stocks arrivals from producing areas like Gujarat, Punjab, AP and southern regions, traders informed.
Following were the spot new cotton rates per candy in rupees: Bengal Desi: 12,900, Gujarat Wagad: Unq, V-797: 11,400, Karnataka Jayadhar: 12,200, Punjab J-34: 14,800, Y-1: 14,400, NHH-44: 14,400, LRA: 14,800, H-4: 16,400, S-6-A grade: 17,500, MCU-5: 19,200, DCH-32: 31,500, Bunny: 17,400, Brahma: 16,800 26 MM: 14,900.
