USA : Arts of Fashion 2005 to take place at San Francisco in Nov

Presided over by fashion icon Jean Charles de Castelbajac, the Arts of Fashion 2005 will bring an international collection of fashion, art, ideas and talent to San Francisco on November 11 & 12.

As a co-host of the event (along with the S.F. Design Center and the California College of Art), the Academy of Art University invites the public to an exciting mix of debates, presentations and seminars at the Academy's historic Morgan Auditorium at 481 Post Street in San Francisco.

In addition, the main focus of the two-day event will be the entries by 70 fashion students selected from 43 different U.S. fashion schools and Universities. These designers will present their creations related to this year's theme of "Art + Fashion + Industry" in the frame of a unique fashion show and display, presided over by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

Those selected by the professional international jury invited in San Francisco, will be presenting in Paris on December 15, 2005 at the prestigious Carrousel du Louvre during the 23rd edition of the 'Concours International des Jeunes Createurs de Mode.'

Among the international roster of nearly twenty talented and notable jurists will be:
Crstof Beaufays - Creative Assistant for Jean-Paul Gaultier -Paris

Tony Delcampe - Director of La Cambre-Mode, Fashion School -Brussels

Emmanuelle Linard - Director of Edekoort Incorporated - New York

Stephanie Coudert - Sponsored by Dior, Stephanie is a rising Haute

Couture designer - Paris

Bradley Quinn - Fashion journalist and curator

Etienne Mineur - Graphic designer for Issey Miyake

Florence Muller - Fashion expert and historian. Former Director
and curator at the Museum of Fashion, Louvre - Paris

Arts Of Fashion Foundation
The Arts of Fashion Foundation is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to international cultural exchanges through a variety of events meant to facilitate critical thinking among artists, designers, scholars and students as well. The debates and seminars such as the Tandem Series, the exhibitions of young rising talents such as the Carte Blanche Series and International Fashion Contests such as AF Competition, are all vehicles of promoting avant-garde and progressive cultural movements.

Nathalie Doucet - Arts Of Fashion President
Nathalie Doucet earned a Master's degree in Textile and Fashion Management at Institut Francais de la Mode (IFM) (1996). She then joined the Agency Houeix and was responsible for promotional events and merchandising for clients such as Hermes, Louis Vuitton and Boucheron.

Since January 2002, Doucet has been responsible for the American selection for the Concours International des Jeunes Createurs de Mode from Paris, founded by Air France and the French Federation of Couture.

In addition to being President of the Arts of Fashion Foundation, Doucet is also the creative consultant in Trends, Brand Identity and a press correspondent for AidaNews Publications. She is an active member of the Costume Society of America (CSA) and of The International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA).

Established by artists for artists in 1929, the Academy of Art University in San Francisco is the largest accredited private art college in the United States. The Academy offers AA, BFA and MFA degrees in the areas of art and design, as well as certificates, portfolio development, and personal enrichment classes both online and on campus.
