The Greek government has proposed a 145-million-euro, two-year programme to revive the textile, clothing and footwear industries.
It is hoped that, with sufficient capitals, the industries can promote competitiveness especially with regard to export activities and product development.
Textile and clothing industries in Greece have been down turning during the past few years, and the total revenues by the nation's 642 major textile companies went down by 2.4% in 2004 as compared with 2003.
