China: Textile Raw Material Import in Jan.-Feb. 2003

In Jan.-Feb. 2003, China imported 351,100 tons of raw materials for textile use valued at US$496 million, up by 88.18 percent in quantity and up by 135.45 percent in volume upon a year-on-year basis. 

Among the total, the import of natural raw materials was 196,400 tons valued at US$325 million, up by 332.72 percent and up by 300.01 percent respectively, while the import of chemical fiber raw materials was 154,700 tons valued at US$170 million, up by 9.57 percent and up by 31.83 percent respectively.
