A Textiles Trader Registration Circular No. 10/2005 has been issued by Herman Kwan on behalf of the Director-General of Trade and Industry, Hong Kong regarding Outward Processing Arrangement (OPA): Mainland Export Duty for Hong Kong Textiles Products.
It says that with effect from 1 January 2006, the Mainland will remove the export duty for all textile and clothing products.
Traders may wish to refer to the Commercial Information Circular No. 554/2005 dated 30 December 2005 for details.
Accordingly, the transitional arrangement of issue of paper OPA Certificates by the Department for the purpose of exemption from the Mainland export duty for textile and clothing products will cease with effect from 1 January 2006.
