India : Select cotton prices up on improved demand

Select cotton prices rose on improved demand, traders at the East India Cotton Exchange said today.

Rates of cotton varieties like Punjab J-34 aand NHH-44 went up by Rs 100 each per candy on better buying support.

Following were the spot new cotton rates per candy in rupees: Bengal Desi: 13,900, Gujarat Wagad: Unq, V-797: 14,200, Karnataka Jayadhar: 15,000, Punjab J-34: 15,500, Y-1: 15,600, NHH-44: 15,800, LRA: 16,900, H-4: 17,200, S-6-A grade: 18,300, MCU-5: 23,500, DCH-32: 46,000, Bunny: 20,500, Brahma: 18,900 and 26-MM: 16,500.
