Brazil : Bed, Table & Bath brands presentation at Heimtextil 2006

2006-1-13

The Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (ABIT) announce that Brazilian companies are present at Heimtextil 2006 in Germany.

Brazil is arriving in Germany. This World Cup year, the Heimtextil, Bed, Table and Bath Fair, which will be held in the city of Frankfurt between January 11 and 14, 2006, will receive five large Brazilian companies in the sector: Buddemeyer, Buettner, Karsten, Teka and Toalhas São Carlos.

Brazilian presence at this edition of the Heimtextil is the result of ABIT efforts through its export incentive program, Texbrasil, with the support of APEX-Brasil – Export and Investment Promotion Agency.

To promote the Brazilian companies that will be at the Heimtextil, ABIT will have an institutional stand to support businessmen, which will distribute individualized gifts by company and flyers with the names and location of each company at the fair. Besides that, luminous panels will be installed at strategic points.

Also geared towards the segment for decorative fabrics, Heimtextil is one of the sector's largest fairs. Its last edition gathered approximately 3 thousand exhibiters from around the world and provided more than 100 contacts of buyers with Brazilian companies.

The quality and differentiated design of Brazilian Bed, Table & Bath products make these companies believe that this year the number of contacts will be even greater.

With nearly 30 thousand companies and 1.5 million workers in its textile sector, Brazil is the sixth largest textile park in the world. Today, the country is among the five largest producers of Bed, Table & Bath, and the segment's exports grew 7.95 percent between 2003 and 2004.

Between January and October 2005, a growth of 21.6% was recorded compared to the previous year. This growth is mainly due to the Texbrasil Program for support and training of the national exporter implemented in 2000 by ABIT, an entity that represents 80% of the textile GDP in Brazil.

ABIT stimulates the evolution of the sector coordinating relevant initiatives in the social and environmental areas, besides sponsoring the sustainable growth of the Brazilian textile industry.
