Intersit invests $2.4 million to expand production capacity

Office furniture manufacturer and exporter Intersit Industries (M) Sdn Bhd has finalized plans to set up a new 165,700 sq ft factory on a 5-acre site in Puncak Alam, Selangor, this year, according to its managing director Alex Lew.

With an investment of $2.4 million, the new factory will be equipped with advanced machinery and facilities from Italy and Germany.

Established in 1992, the company manufactures a wide range of high quality open-plan office systems, desks and chairs. Lew said the company would launch its new pole-desking system in five months' time.

Intersit exports most of its products to the UK, Australia, the Netherlands, Panama, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. It is exploring the Spanish market.

The company posted a turnover of $5 million last year and recently attained certification to ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System.
