India : IL&FS plans to set up Textile Park

Financial services provider IL&FS, Vice President, Ravi Raman has brought the proposal to Lakme Fashion Week to set up Textile Park in Silvasa with the consent of Ministry of Textile.

In this park designers may set up fashion institute with 40 percent financial assistance from the government.

He also said that apart from the textile, other things like embellishments, specialised labour and equipment, needed to make a garment would be provided.

In proposed park, textile technologist will be available to assist designers so they don’t have to go abroad for such trainings.
