The investigation will terminate by October 13 of this year, the Ministry of Commerce said in a statement.
The Ministry announced on April 13 of last year that it would launch an anti-dumping investigation on spandex products imported from Japan, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, the United States and China's Taiwan.
According to the announcement, the Ministry began on April 13 to investigate whether dumping exists, the scope of dumping and damage it has caused if dumping is confirmed.
Spandex or elastane is a synthetic fiber known for its exceptional elasticity (stretchability). It is stronger and more durable than rubber, its major plant competitor. It was invented in 1959 by DuPont chemist Joseph Shivers, and when first introduced it revolutionized many areas of the clothing industry. |
