According to Beijing Municipal Government, 10 more commercial streets are to be built over the next seven years.
In addition to Wangfujing and Xidan, the two biggest commercial streets in the city, there are some other kinds of streets with special features, like bar street, flower street and tea street.
The local government invited some foreign experts to make a survey as to the construction of the commercial streets. Some suggested that tourism and entertainment should be the two main new Beijing's commercial streets.
At the same time, traditional characteristics must be combined with modern ones.
