China : Clothing manufacturers not keen on dressing senior citizens
Chinese markets are running short of clothing for senior citizens as clothing manufacturers are more interested in producing clothes for youths and children.
Another reason is that population of elders is less compared to youngsters and kids; moreover, sales channels are not focussed properly and most importantly, retailers get low profit-margins from this segment.
However, small manufacturing units have seen greater opportunities in this untapped business area, and started producing more clothes for elders.
At present, population of elders is more than 0.13 billion, and as this count goes up, senior citizens’ clothing will grow in to a bigger market in China.
