China's Textile and Apparel Exp. USD 49.65 Billion from Jan. to May 2006

Official statistics made by China Customs that China's total imp. & exp. value of foreign trade recorded U.S. dollar 647.85 billion in Jan. to May. 2006， increasing 23.9% compared with the same period of last year. Among them, export was 347.32 billion dollars, increasing 25.70%; while import was 300.53 billion dollars, increasing 22%.

And the statistics shows that China's total export value of textile and apparel from Jan. to May.2005 reached 49.65 billion dollars taking up 14.30% of China gross export value of foreign trade. Among them, textile export was 18.61 billion dollars, increasing 20.10% compared with the same period of last year; and apparel & accessory export was 31.04 billion dollars, increasing 27.3% compared with the same period of last year.

Imports rose 22.1 percent in the period, 8.8 percentage points higher than the same period last year.
