China : Children’s clothing industry in acquisition mode
Children’s clothing industry in China has shown two traits this year; some brands of children clothing have begun to control domestic market share, while other big brands have gone in for acquisition of middle and low level manufacturing units.
This year, acquisitions will play important role in the industry throughout the country.
Manufacturers producing high quality clothing will take over those low quality clothing producers.
There are more than 40,000 manufacturers of children clothing, however, very few possess brands of their ownership.
Children’s clothing industry is in a flux in the international trade arena and these changes within the country portends for a better future for the domestic industries, perhaps.
