“The center of textile investments has shifted”
Teknik Fuarcılık Marketing and Sales Director Necip Güney stating stressing that textile investments and production increasing gradually in Turkiye and the surrounding countries evaluated ITM 2006’s success as follows:
“Despite the decrease in the world’s textile industry and consequently in the sectoral exhibitions, we have observed that ITM 2006 could pace and even pass other textile machinery exhibitions in the world. As the textile production shifted from Europe to different regions, exhibitions organized in Europe lost their attrativeness. As a consequence ITM 2006 exhibitions gained ground.
Our geographical location to Turkic Republics, Balkans and Europe provided a great advantage to us. In terms of cost it is certainly obvious that Turkiye is cheaper. An exhibition organized in such a central location will certainly become stronger. First of all we have achived our target and attracted Turkic Republics and Balkans. At ITM 2006 we have seen that the majority of the visitors were from these countries.
ITM 2006 directed textile investments in Turkiye
Textile investments in Turkiye which is thought to have decreased recently has left its place to high technology investments. In yarn production the 18,2 % increase in open-end investments in an indicator that manufacturers are trying to meet high demands.
Weaving Technologies, which were ITM 2006’s most popular field, was the field of activity having been the subject of high valued investments.
Turkish textile manufacturers aiming to produce more special fabrics and improving their own fashion and European manufacturers have done a 22% renovation investment.
In the last 6 months, especially in home textile the investments has increased 10% in jackard weaving machines.
At ITM 2006, who has directed and encouraged these investments, weaving and yarn Technologies were the most demanded machineries.
