China : China grabs 70% share of swimming clothes market

China has become the biggest exporter of swimming clothes in the world with its export quantity reaching 259 million pieces in 2005, occupying 70 percent of global market share.

Cancellation of textile quota limit by World Trade Organization (WTO) gave rise to the exports by China resulting in its dominance in world market.

The growth rate of Chinese swimming clothes export to USA has increased 500 times in last year with value estimated at US $79 million. European Union (EU) is the main export market for China with the exports reaching the figures of $128 million.
