China : Textile units use health label for profit |

Textile markets of commodities such as bed sheets, pillow, sock, underwear are using health labels to their advantage.
For example, advertisement like vest with radiation protection, the underwear with special curative effect, the pillow with building up immunity ability, anti-bacterium socks have flooded the market.
When the health function label is used, it makes the price of the product double its original price and since customers prefer these products, companies are making huge profits.
The lust for the profits has forced some companies to use label even without adhering to these standards.
The Government has issued its first standard code for textile industry last month which will become effective gradually even though there are no standards set for certain sectors.
