TAIPEI (AFX-ASIA) - Taiwan-China trade in January rose 26.7 pct from a year earlier to 3.22 bln usd, the Board of Foreign Trade said.
The total accounted for 16.5 pct of Taiwan's total external trade, compared with the 16.7 pct the month before, it said.
During the month, Taiwan's trade surplus with China increased 3.7 pct from a year earlier to 1.65 bln usd, as exports rose 17.9 pct to 2.43 bln and imports increased 64.9 pct to 787 mln, it said.
The 2.43 bln usd shipments to China accounted for 24.2 pct of Taiwan's total exports in January, compared with 23.8 pct posted a month earlier, it added.
