China : Polyester price hike makes Amoy clothes expensive |

Price rise in polyester, a raw material for cloths, has pushed up prices of clothing in Amoy city in China.
It is reported that polyester price rises almost every week and this has brought pressure to clothing manufacturers.
There are more than 400 manufacturing units, which suffer due to this price hike; the number of units is dominated by women clothes producers.
Chinese polyester is good in quality and its price is very cheap, and this attracts many foreign buyers. It is one of the reasons to increase polyester price.
Rise in oil prices, raw material for polyester, is another reason of price increase. |
