China : All the rage for Chinese units |

Chinese garment manufacturers have always been haunted by brand issue as very few manufacturers are concerned to build brand.
In a recent survey, 3104 Chinese units and only 143 brands have recognition among 2629 foreign merchandisers.
There are only three brands, which receive more than 100 votes. From these three, only one (Youngor clothing brand) belongs to clothing brand category.
Industry experts suggest that though production for other international brands is a successful practice in overseas markets, profit earned by this fashion is too small and this gives birth to trade frictions in international markets.
Chinese units, especially clothing producers, should hammer into the idea of brand building. Units in Fujian province have stronger brand idea. |
