China : Xinjiang Shihezi City forms first Textile Association

Shihezi City Textile Association was established on October 27, which is the first Textile Association ever set up by the Corps.

It is learned that the association is composed of several textile and related industries, enterprises, entrepreneurs, community experts and scholars in Shihezi reclamation district.

Textile industry is the dominant pillar industry in Shihezi City (Farming Corps Division No Eight), now the cotton mill scale of the division has reached more than 70 million spindles.’

In ‘Eleventh Five-Year Plan’ period, Shihezi City plans to invest 7 billion yuan to build seven textile projects and expand the cotton mill scale to 1.5 million spindles.

Textile Association of Shihezi City will serve as a bridge between the government and enterprises.
